About ELT for Tohoku

English Language Teaching (ELT) publishers and booksellers in Japan have created a group called "ELT for Tohoku" to help victims of the March 11 earthquake-tsunami disaster. ELTBOOKS.com is part of this group and wants to help raising funds on a long term perspective. For a list of companies participating in this effort see the logo above or click here for a list.

So far, participating publishers have donated some 17,400 books, worth more than 36 million yen. Participating distributors are selling these books to customers - for at least 50% of the retail price. The whole amount of money spent on these books goes straight into a special post office account set up for "ELT for Tohoku". Any additional money that has been donated by our customers (by paying more than the 50% of the retail price) will also go to that account.

In other words: This is a win-win for everyone: Publishers and distributors can help raising funds. Customers like you can buy books cheaper than usual - and be ensured that all of the money will be used for a great purpose: To help the Tohoku region recover as soon as possible.
